Poland: Manufacturing PMI increases notably in November
The S&P Global Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) came in at 48.7 in November, up from 44.5 in October. Consequently, the index remained entrenched below the 50-threshold, signaling a notably softer deterioration in business conditions in the manufacturing sector from the prior month.
Softer contractions in output, new orders and employment were behind the increase in the headline reading. On the price front, input costs rose for the first time in eight months, while output prices contined to fall. Lastly, business expectations for the year ahead strengthened to the highest level since February 2022 amid investment in new products and capacity, strengthening economic conditions in Europe, new customers and declining inflation.
