Natural gas EU prices averaged USD 10.87 per MMBtu in June, up 7.3% from May. On 28 June, the commodity traded at USD 10.83 per MMBtu, down 0.6% from 31 May.
Concerns about supply disruptions rose in June as a European court ordered the Russian firm Gazprom to pay billions in damages to a German utility company. Gazprom is unlikely to pay up, potentially leading to the rerouting of the firm’s remaining European clients, a move which could lead Gazprom to halt gas flows to Europe.
