Natural gas EU prices averaged USD 18.06 per MMBtu in July, up 19.0% from June. On 31 July, the commodity traded at USD 19.92 per MMBtu, up 36.8% from 30 June.
In July, prices slightly topped the over three-year high reached in March as the U.S.-Iran truce snapped, resurfacing concerns about Qatari LNG supply to Europe, especially given competition from Asian buyers that’s heating up due to a sweltering summer; European inventories are at their lowest seasonal level since 2009.
