Molybdenum prices averaged USD 44,609 per metric ton in April, down 13.3% from March. On 30 April, the commodity traded at USD 43,872 per metric ton, down 1.7% from 31 March.
Molybdenum prices began April at a low level, dented by heightened global trade frictions: Trump’s protectionist rhetoric in recent weeks, coupled with tariff escalation between the U.S. and China, dented demand for the metal. Still, prices were largely stable through most of April following the slum at the start of the month.
