Molybdenum prices fell in recent weeks, edging closer to early 2023 levels as industrial momentum across the world softened. Prices averaged USD 56,570 per metric ton in May, which was 20.1% lower than April’s price but was up 33.6% from the same month last year. Meanwhile, on 31 May, molybdenum traded at USD 47,400 per metric ton, which was down 33.1% from the same day of the previous month.
