U.S. steel prices declined in May as manufacturing activity weakened in the U.S. Prices for U.S. steel averaged USD 1,088 per metric ton in May, which was 6.0% lower than April’s price and was down 18.7% from the same month last year. Meanwhile, on 31 May, hot-rolled coil steel traded at USD 934 per metric ton, which was down 12.6% from the same day of the previous month.
