Coffee prices averaged USD 271 cents per pound in June, down 7.9% from May. On 30 June, the commodity traded at USD 282 cents per pound, up 2.2% from 29 May.
In June, arabica coffee prices fell to a 20-month low, as markets expect a record crop in key producer Brazil this year and a larger surplus than previously forecast. That said, prices received support from Brazil’s delayed harvest amid unfavorable weather plus market woes over El Niño’s impact on crop quality.
