Switzerland: Retail sales rebound in June
Calendar-adjusted real retail sales rose 0.7% over the same month a year prior in June, following the 1.1% decline logged in May. June’s uptick came on the back of a strong rise in sales of non-food items, while conversely sales of food, alcohol and tobacco fell.
On a month-on-month calendar- and seasonally-adjusted basis, real retail sales increased 1.5% in June, contrasting the revised 1.0% decrease registered in May. Meanwhile the annual average variation in retail sales declined 0.3% in June, matching May’s dip.
