Switzerland: KOF Economic Barometer rises into optimistic territory in April
The KOF Economic Barometer rose to 101.7 in April from March’s 99.2. Consequently, the index moved above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the Swiss economy.
April’s stronger reading was driven by healthier signs regarding accommodation and food services, and other services activity, amid the waning impact of the pandemic. However, foreign demand was a drag on momentum due to the fallout from the war in Ukraine.
