Spain: Growth in retail sales slows in November
Retail sales increased 1.5% in annual terms in November, following the 4.7% leap logged in October, which had marked the sharpest increase since August 2016. November’s rise largely reflected a healthy increase in sales of personal and household equipment goods.
On a distribution-based system, growth was almost broad-based across store types. Sales at small chain and department stores, and at large chain stores continued to expand in November, while purchases at single retail stores dipped in the month.
Annual average retail sales growth inched down to 0.9% in November from 1.0% in October.
