Russia: Inflation edges higher in November
In November, consumer prices rose 0.5% from the previous month, slightly above the 0.4% increase recorded in October. According to Rosstat, higher prices for food drove November’s result.
Inflation edged up to 3.8% in November from October’s 3.5% and in line with market expectations. November’s result marked the highest inflation since July 2017. That said, inflation remains below the Central Bank’s target rate of 4.0% and is expected to remain moderate in the coming months due to a freeze in gasoline prices and weak household spending.
Annual average inflation edged up to 2.7% in November from October’s 2.6%.
