Poland: Retail sales rise solidly at 2020 outset
Nominal retail sales rose 5.7% year-on-year in January, down from December’s 7.5% jump. January’s expansion was broad-based, with the fastest increases recorded for textiles, clothing and footwear; furniture, radio, TV and household appliances; and food, beverages and tobacco products. Meanwhile, purchases of newspapers, books and other sale in specialized stores dipped in the month.
Meanwhile, annual average growth in nominal retail sales ticked down to 6.6% in January from 6.7% in December.
