Poland: Growth in industrial output accelerates in December
Industrial output rose a 3.8% year-on-year in December, following the weaker 1.4% uptick recorded in November, according to the Central Statistical Office (GUS). December’s acceleration largely reflected faster growth in manufacturing output and a stronger expansion in water supply. On the other hand, the electric and gas utilities sector lost considerable steam, while the mining and quarrying sector swung from a healthy expansion to a small contraction.
Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial output inched up to 4.3% in December from 4.2% in November, which had marked the weakest record since June 2017.
