Peru: Business confidence falls to two-and-a-half-year low in August
The business confidence indicator fell to 45.0 points in August from 49.0 points in July, the lowest print since March 2017. Thus, the indicator moved further below the 50-point threshold that separates pessimism from optimism.
August’s plunge reflected weaker expectations on the general economic situations and on the sector, as well as weaker employment expectations. In contrast, the demand outlook improved somewhat from the previous month.
