Mexico: Economic activity takes a breather in August
Economic activity grew 1.7% in August from the same month a year earlier, losing steam from the 3.3% year-on-year expansion logged in July. According to INEGI, August’s reading was driven by a broad-based slowdown across the agricultural, industrial and services sectors.
On a month-on-month basis, economic activity fell 0.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms, contrasting July’s 0.5% rise.
