Greece: Economic sentiment falls in September
Economic sentiment came in at 108.0 in September, down from August’s 111.2. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, pointing to a positive near-term outlook for the economy.
The headline print reflected deteriorating sentiment in the industrial and construction sectors. On the flip side, confidence in the services and retail sectors strengthened in September. Lastly, consumer confidence weakened in September.
Considering indicators that are not used to calculate the index, employment expectations weakened, while the economic uncertainty index rose in September.
