Month-ahead business confidence among manufacturing firms fell to 67.0 in October from September’s 69.0. October’s result marked the weakest sentiment since March. As a result, the index moved further below the 100 threshold, indicating deeper pessimism among businesses.
Month-ahead business sentiment fell among both domestically and export-orientated manufacturing firms. Sentiment among export-orientated firms remained lower amid a muted outlook for global trade.
