Costa Rica: Inflation ticks up in January but remains low
Consumer prices increased 0.11% in January in month-on-month terms, contrasting the 0.12% decrease in December. The decrease in January was due to lower prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation ticked up to 1.6% in January from 1.5% in December, coming closer to the Central Bank’s 2.0%–4.0% target range. Annual average inflation was unchanged at 2.1% in January.
