China: Growth in house prices stabilizes in December
House prices in 70 large- and medium-sized cities rose 0.3% in December in month-on-month terms according to a weighted average index calculated by Thomson Reuters from data issued by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS). The print matched the result in November, which had represented the weakest result since March 2018. According to the NBS, the sale price of newly constructed residential buildings increased in 50 of the 70 cities (44 in November).
House prices increased 6.6% annually in December, below the 7.1% rise in October and the lowest result in 17 months. Annual average growth in house prices inched down from 9.5% in November to 9.3% in December.
