Brazil: Economic activity decelerates in June
In June, economic activity increased 0.3% in seasonally-adjusted month-on-month terms, according to the Central Bank’s monthly indicator for economic activity. The result followed May’s revised 1.1% increase (previously reported: +0.5% mom) which marked the first increase in 2019 and the strongest reading in 12 months.
On an annual basis, economic activity fell 1.8%, contrasting May’s revised 4.8% increase (previously reported: +4.4% year-on-year). Meanwhile, annual average growth in economic activity moderated from 1.4% in May to 1.1% in June.
