Belgium: Industrial production accelerates in August
Industrial output jumped to 3.0% on a year-on-year seasonally-adjusted basis in August, above July’s 0.6% outturn. A breakdown by Belgium’s Statistical Institute reveled a rebound in manufacturing, coupled with upbeat supply of electricity, drive the monthly increase.
Annual average industrial output growth, meanwhile, inched up to 2.8% from a 2.7% in July.
On a seasonally-adjusted basis, industrial output rebounded by 5.1% from a month earlier (July: -6.5% month-on-month seasonally adjusted).
