Belarus: Inflation falls in August
Consumer prices fell 0.2% over the previous month in August, contrasting the 0.2% month-on-month increase in July. The decline was mainly driven by a drop in food prices, which more than offset a rise in services costs.
Inflation edged down to 5.7% in August from 6.0% in July, moving slightly closer to but still remaining above the Central Bank’s 5.0% target. Meanwhile, annual average inflation ticked up to 5.7% in August from 5.6% in July.
