Austria: Growth in industrial production decelerates
Industrial production in Austria increased 0.6% month-on-month in February, slightly below January’s revised 0.7% expansion (previously reported: +1.9% month-on-month). The print reflected robust growth in capital goods production while output growth of intermediate goods was flat. Output of consumer goods and energy decreased.
Compared to February 2018, industrial output expanded 5.9%, which was down from January’s 6.7% rise (previously reported: +8.2% year-on-year). Annual average growth in industrial production was stable at January’s 4.8% in February.
