Austria: Industrial production drops in December
Industrial production in Austria contracted 0.2% over the prior month in December, up from a revised 1.1% drop in November (previously reported: -2.4% month-on-month). The modest drop in output came on the back of a marked contraction in capital goods production and a fall in the manufacturing of intermediate goods. On the other hand, output in durable consumer goods increased at a strong pace.
Compared to the same month a year earlier, industrial output expanded 1.8% in December, down from November’s revised 2.9% expansion (previously reported: +1.0% year-on-year). Annual average growth in industrial production eased to 4.5% in December from 5.0% in November.
