Exports in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Bosnia and Herzegovina - Exports
After buoyant economic growth in the fourth quarter of last year, the economy likely lost some steam in the first quarter of this year. Industrial production averaged lower and goods exports growth cooled in Q1. Additionally, the external sector likely dragged on the economy to a greater extent, as merchandise imports growth accelerated in the period. While stronger goods imports and a downtick in the unemployment rate through February bode well for household spending, rising cost pressures will have somewhat limited private consumption: Inflation rose to a record high in March due to the war in Ukraine fueling energy and food prices. Furthermore, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine sparks security concerns for Bosnia and Herzegovina: Russian leadership has warned of a forceful reaction if the country were to respond to increased instability in the region by joining NATO.Bosnia and Herzegovina - Exports Data
