United States: Inflation increases to the highest level since June 1982 in November
Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.78% in November over the previous month, decelerating from the 0.94% rise seen in October. The weaker rise was due to softer price pressures recorded for energy, food and healthcare prices.
Inflation jumped to 6.8% in November, above October’s 6.2%. Annual average inflation rose to 4.2% in November (October: 3.8%). Lastly, core inflation also increased, coming in at 5.0% in November, up from 4.6% in October.
