United Kingdom: Industrial output growth ebbs in December
Industrial production grew 0.3% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in December (November: +0.7% mom). December’s slower growth was largely due to lower manufacturing and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply production.
On an annual basis, industrial output grew 0.4% in December, rebounding from November’s 0.2% fall. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth came in at 4.7% for 2021 as a whole, contrasting the steep 8.4% fall clocked in 2020.
