United Kingdom: Industrial output rises at best pace in six months in February
Industrial output expanded 1.0% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in February, which contrasted January’s 1.8% decrease. February’s figure was partly due to an improvement in manufacturing output. In addition, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply output gained steam.
On an annual basis, factory output declined 3.5% in February, softer than January’s 4.3% fall. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 8.3% in February, down from January’s minus 8.2% reading.
