United Kingdom: Industrial output picks up pace in May
Industrial output increased 6.0% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in May, contrasting April’s 20.2% decrease. May’s rebound came on the back of recoveries in manufacturing and mining production.
On an annual basis, factory output fell at a softer pace of 20.0% in May (April: -23.8% yoy). Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 5.8% in May, down from April’s minus 4.1%.
