Ukraine: Industrial output growth hits over two-year high in April
Industrial production jumped 5.2% year-on-year in April, accelerating from a 2.1% increase in March. The reading marked the strongest expansion in industrial output since January 2017. While the acceleration was broad-based, it was chiefly led by strong output growth in the manufacturing industry. Mining and quarrying production also picked up slightly compared to the previous month, while the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply sector rebounded from March.
Meanwhile, on a seasonally-adjusted month-on-month basis, industrial output rose 0.9% in April, down from a 2.4% increase in March. Lastly, annual average growth in industrial production ticked up from 0.8% in March to 0.9% in April.
