Thailand: Merchandise exports contract in November
Merchandise exports fell 5.7% annually in November, following Octobers 4.2% decrease. Meanwhile, merchandise imports rose 4.5% in annual terms in November (October: -3.2% yoy).
As a result, the merchandise trade balance deteriorated from the previous month, recording a USD 1.3 billion deficit in November (October 2022: USD 0.6 billion deficit; November 2021: USD 1.0 billion surplus). Lastly, the trend pointed down, with the 12-month trailing merchandise trade balance recording a USD 17.3 billion deficit in November, compared to the USD 14.9 billion deficit in October.
