Thailand: Inflation comes in at highest level since September 2008 in March
Consumer prices rose 0.66% in March over the previous month, coming in below the 1.06% increase recorded in February. The result was primarily due to dropping prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation came in at 5.7% in March, up from February’s 5.3%. March’s result was the highest inflation rate since September 2008. Annual average inflation rose to 2.6% in March (February: 2.1%). Finally, core inflation ticked up to 2.0% in March, from February’s 1.8%.
