Switzerland: KOF Economic Barometer falls in June but remains at historically high level
The KOF Economic Barometer fell to 133.4 in June from May’s 143.7. As a result, the index remained above the long-term average of 100, and still points to a very positive near-term outlook for the Swiss economy.
Following several months of surging readings as the economy reopened and pent-up demand was released, some normalization in the Barometer was always to be expected, with June’s dip driven by less positive signs regarding the manufacturing sector, foreign demand, and the accommodation and food services sector.
