Switzerland: KOF Economic Barometer eases in June
The KOF Economic Barometer fell to 90.8 in June from May’s 91.4. June’s result marked the weakest sentiment since November 2022. As a result, the index remained below the long-term average of 100, pointing to a muted near-term outlook for the Swiss economy.
June’s drop was primarily caused by weakness in indicators for foreign demand, private consumption and other services. In contrast, indicators for manufacturing and construction were more positive.
