Sweden: Industrial activity dips in January
Industrial output fell 0.6% in month-on-month seasonally-adjusted terms in January, which followed December’s 0.1% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, January’s result was partly due to a deterioration in manufacturing output. In contrast, mining output rebounded.
On an annual basis, industrial production rose at a softer pace of 1.7% in January, moderating from December’s 3.2% increase. Accordingly, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of industrial production coming in at 7.9%, down from December’s 8.0%.
