Spain: Industrial production rises in February

April 10, 2015

In February, industrial production rose 0.6% over the same month last year in working-day adjusted terms, which was above the revised 0.1% increase tallied in January (previously reported: +0.4% year-on-year). The print mainly reflected a rise in the production of capital and intermediate goods, while production of consumer goods contracted, however, at a weaker pace than in the previous month

Annual average variation of industrial production inched down from January’s 1.2% to 1.0% in February, thereby reaching the lowest print in eight months.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see industrial production expanding 2.2% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2016, the panel sees industrial output growth at 2.6%.
