Spain: Industrial output contracts at sharpest pace since February in October
Industrial output fell 0.9% year-on-year in seasonally- and calendar-adjusted terms in October, which contrasted September’s 0.4% increase. October’s result marked the sharpest drop since February. The deterioration came on the back of contractions in capital goods and intermediate goods output. However, consumer goods production gained steam.
On a seasonally- and calendar-adjusted monthly basis, factory output fell 0.4% in October (September: 0.0% mom). Meanwhile, annual average growth of industrial production was stable at September’s 6.1% in October.
