Spain: Industrial output records quickest growth since March 2023 in February
Industrial output rose 1.5% year on year in seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms in February (January: +0.3% ). The figure marked the best reading since March 2023. Looking at the details of the release, February’s pickup was broad-based, with the consumer goods, capital goods and intermediate goods sub-sectors all accelerating.
On a monthly basis, industrial production increased 0.7% in seasonally adjusted terms in February, which was above January’s 0.6% expansion and marked the best result since March 2023. Meanwhile, the trend improved modestly, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 0.9%, up from January’s minus 1.1%.
