Spain: Industrial output growth strengthens in January
Industrial output increased 1.7% year-on-year in seasonally- and calendar-adjusted terms in January (December: +1.3%). The uptick was largely due to an improvement in intermediate goods production growth. In addition, capital goods output fell at a softer pace.
On a monthly basis, industrial output dipped 0.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms in January, following December’s 2.6% slump, which had marked the worst result since April 2020. Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 7.6% in January (December: +7.2%).
