Spain: Industrial output contracts at softest pace in seven months in September
Industrial production dipped 3.4% year-on-year in seasonally- and calendar-adjusted terms in September, less severely than August’s 5.7% decline. September’s reading marked the softest fall since February and the ninth successive month of contraction.
September’s result reflected an across-the-board improvement in the sub-components of the index. The production of consumer, capital and intermediate goods all fell at a milder pace compared to August and so did energy output.
On a seasonally- and calendar-adjusted monthly basis, factory output climbed 0.8% in September, up from August’s 0.4% uptick.
