Slovenia: Industrial production slows in November
The industrial sector lost its stride in November, reporting a 2.5% increase in output over the same month of the previous year, down from October’s 3.7% expansion. A breakdown by subcomponents shows that a sharp contraction in mining and quarrying, coupled with flat growth in manufacturing, weighed on the headline reading. November’s supply of electricity, gas and steam saw a mild increase, however.
On a month-on-month basis, industrial output contracted 0.2% in November, contrasting a 2.3% expansion over the previous month in October. Meanwhile, average annual growth in industrial production fell to 6.3%, down from 6.9% a month prior.
