Slovakia: Industrial output rebounds in February
Industrial output expanded 1.0% in year-on-year terms in February, which contrasted January’s 3.9% decrease. Looking at the details of the release, manufacturing output fell at a softer rate in February, while mining and quarrying output swung to contraction. Meanwhile, electricity, gas and steam supply production increased.
On a monthly basis, industrial output declined 0.1% in seasonally-adjusted terms in February, contrasting January’s 0.7% expansion. Meanwhile, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 8.7%, up from January’s minus 8.9% reading.
