Slovakia: Industrial output growth deteriorates in January
Industrial output increased 3.1% compared to the same month a year earlier in January, which was a deterioration from December’s 8.8% increase. The notable deterioration was primarily due to weaker growth of manufacturing output and a deterioration in electricity, gas and steam supply production.
On a seasonally-adjusted monthly basis, industrial production fell 1.3% in January (December: +0.8% mom). Meanwhile, annual average industrial production growth rose to 11.0% in January (December: +10.4%), signaling an improving trend in the industrial sector.
