Romania: Inflation accelerates in June
Consumer prices increased 0.27% from the previous month in June, below the 0.53% rise logged in May. April’s the lowest reading in seven months and was largely attributed to a softer growth in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages.
Inflation came in at 3.9% in June, slightly up from May’s 3.8%. Accordingly, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.9% in June (May: 2.8%). Lastly core inflation rose to 3.3% in June, from the previous month’s 3.1%.
