Romania: Industrial output declines for ninth month running in December
Industrial production fell 6.9% year-on-year in seasonally- and working day-adjusted terms in the final month of 2019, following November’s 7.6% plunge which had marked the sharpest contraction since May 2009. December’s downturn reflected sizeable declines in output in all the three major sectors, which has occurred for the past six months.
The annual average variation in industrial output, meanwhile, fell to minus 3.6% in December from minus 3.1% in November. Lastly, in seasonally- and working day-adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production slid 0.1% in December, matching November’s slip.
