Poland: Retail sales growth more than halves in March
Nominal retail sales rose 3.1% year-on-year in March, decelerating considerably from February’s 6.5% rise. March’s expansion was driven largely by robust sales of furniture, radio, TV and household appliances, as well as of motor vehicles. On the other hand, sales of food, beverages and tobacco products shrank notably.
Consequently, annual average growth in nominal retail sales slowed from 7.6% in February to 7.1%, the softest reading in 20 months.
