Poland: Retail sales growth eases to over two-year low in March
Retail sales grew 4.8% year on year in March (February: +10.8% yoy). March’s outturn marked the worst reading since February 2021. The figure was largely driven by a contraction in motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts sales. In addition, furniture, radio, tv and household appliances sales contracted at a sharper rate.
Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average growth of retail sales coming in at 18.5% in March, down from February’s 19.9%.
