Poland: Industrial activity decreases at sharper pace in July
Industrial output decreased 2.7% year on year in July (June: -1.1% yoy). Looking at the details of the release, mining and quarrying output contracted at a softer rate in July, while the drop in manufacturing output worsened. Meanwhile, electricity, gas and utilities production contracted at a milder pace.
On a monthly basis, industrial production fell 1.0% in seasonally adjusted terms in July, contrasting June’s 0.4% expansion.. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 10.2% in July, down from June’s minus 9.6%.
