Peru: Inflation moderates in August
Consumer prices increased 0.67% over the previous month in August, slowing from the 0.94% increase seen in July. Looking at the details of the release, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages, housing and utilities and restaurants and hotels contributed the most to the increase in prices.
Inflation came in at 8.4% in August, down from July’s 8.7%. Annual average inflation rose to 7.0% in August (July: 6.7%). Lastly, core inflation rose to 6.2% in July (the latest month for which data is available), from the previous month’s 5.8%.
