Peru: Inflation falls to lowest level since September 2018
Consumer prices in Metropolitan Lima increased 0.10% in April over the last month, which was below March’s 0.65% rise. Smaller increases in prices for food and beverages and culture largely drove the deceleration.
Inflation declined to 1.7% in April, slightly below March’s 1.8%. April’s result represented the smallest inflation rate since September 2018. Meanwhile, the trend pointed down slightly, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.0% in April (March: 2.1%).
Meanwhile, core inflation was unchanged at March’s 1.8% in April.
