Norway: Inflation increases in June

Consumer prices increased a seasonally-adjusted 0.35% over the previous month in June, swinging from the 0.09% drop seen in May. Looking at the details of the release, the result was chiefly due to faster price growth for transport, and for housing and utilities.

Inflation ticked up to 2.9% in June, following May’s 2.7%. Consequently, the trend pointed up, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.2% in June (May: 2.0%). Lastly, core inflation fell to 1.4% in June, from May’s 1.5%.
