Norway: Inflation resumes upward trend in February
Consumer prices increased 1.10% in February over the previous month, contrasting January’s 0.93% drop. February’s uptick marked the highest reading since February 2010. Looking at the details of the release, food and non-alcoholic beverages prices rose at a markedly quicker pace in February compared to the previous month and price pressures for transportation rebounded.
Inflation increased to 3.7% in February from January’s 3.2%. Consequently, annual average inflation edged up to 3.6% in February (January: 3.5%). Lastly, core inflation rose to 2.1% in February, from January’s 1.3%.
